University of Alabama - E-Day

The University of Alabama - College of Engineering will host an open house on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 8:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Explore the rewarding opportunities available in engineering and computer science.  Receive information about admissions, housing, financial aid, scholarships, honors programs and more.  Please register online at eng.ua.edu/e-day by September 26.  Lunch will be provided.

University of South Alabama-Preview Day

Fall Preview Day will take place on October 12th and November 16th.  Your day at South will include:

Meeting with Academic Deans, Faculty, University Officials and Students.
Learn about admissions, scholarships and financial aid.
Tour the campus and residence halls.
Meet with representatives from the honors program and explore the learning communities.

Mississippi State University - Preview Day

Fall Preview Day will take place on October 14th and October 28th.  There is a $10.00 charge per person. Jacksonville State University-Preview Day

Jacksonville State University will host their annual Fall Preview Day on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Preview Day is specially designed for all high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and parents who wish to experience Jacksonville State University at its very best.  Students will be able to choose their start time for the day, 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m., and will be welcomed to campus and have an overview of the enrollment process.  Afterwards, students will be able to browse academic departments, take a campus tour and ask questions about the services offered at JSU.  Students should visit www.jsu.edu/previewday for more information, location and time of the event.

Community Service Opportunity

Hands on History Day Camp will be held at Fendall Hall on July 8, 9, 10 from 9:00-12:00 each day.  If you are interested in helping with this activity, please contact Susan Hudspeth at shudspeth@lakesidechiefs.com

ACT Test June 8, 2013

The next ACT will be given June 8, 2013.  The last date to register without a late fee is May 3.  You may register at www.actstudent.org.  The school code is 010-996.  Be sure you check the box to have your scores sent to The Lakeside School.  You can send up to four score reports to colleges when you register.

College Fair - March 12 at 6:00 p.m.

All students/parents in grades 8-12 are encouraged to attend The Lakeside School 3rd Annual College Fair on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.

CVCC College Preview Day

Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City will host a college preview day on Thursday, February 21 at 10 a.m. (est) and is open to all graduating seniors.  See Ms. Hudspeth to reserve your spot.

Jacksonville State University - Spring Preview Day

Jacksonville State University will host Spring Preview Day for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors and their families on Saturday, February 23 and April 6, 2013.  Representatives from academic departments, student clubs, and organizations will be available as well as campus tours.  Visit www.jsu.edu/previewday for more information and to register.

ZAPS ACT Test Preparation
