University of Alabama Huntsville-Reception

The University of Alabama in Huntsville will be hosting a prospective student reception for students of Barbour County on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Lakepoint Resort State Park.  The reception will include a presentation about UAH including information about financial aid, student life, residence life, and academics.  The event will be catered and students are encouraged to bring their families.  Any student that attends the event will be given a fee waiver card so that they can complete the admissions application for FREE!  To register please visit:

Huntingdon College Preview Days

Visit Huntingdon!  Tour the campus, meet current students, talk with faculty in your area of interest, and learn more about the admission and financial aid processes.  Preview Days begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at noon.

ACT Registration Information

The next ACT test date is October 25, 2014.  The registration deadline is September 19.  The fee is $38.00.  The school code for Lakeside is 010-996.  Please see Ms. Susan if you need help completing the registration process or uploading your photo.

Senior Parents: College Financial Aid Workshop

Senior families are invited to a financial aid workshop on Thursday, January 23 at 6:00 p.m.  The workshop will be led by Susan Bryant, Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, and will take place in the computer lab at Lakeside.  The federal financial aid process will be discussed along with other forms of aid.  Ms. Bryant has conducted this workshop for Lakeside for three years and always provides very important information.  I hope you will join us for this beneficial information session.  If you have any questions, please contact me at shudspeth@lakesidechiefs.com or 687-5748.
